Memorial Day Weekend

I had a great weekend back in Minnesota. Friday I played 18-holes of golf with Lorie Bergman and Vic & Dot Swanson. Since I didn't get a chance to visit Swanson's while they were in Bradenton this winter, it was fun to play golf and have a few laughs on the golf course. Friday night I joined my parents at the St. Olaf Alumni Awards dinner where my mom was the recipient of the St. Olaf Distinguished Service Award. She is also celebrating her 50th class reunion so it's a fun weekend of events for my parents on campus.

Saturday was a day of countless trips to Menards (five all day!) as we continue to get our house ready to be put on the market. We put the finishing touches on the remodeled kitchen--I painted while David finished installing a new sink and counter top.

Sunday I attended St. Olaf Commencement as my mom participated in Commencement exercises as an Alumni Award winner. It was fun to see many friends and former golf team members graduate.

Monday morning I played golf with Lorie, Donna and Barb. Marcia came down to ride nine holes and visit with me--she is on the DL with a minor golf injury--hoping to be swinging again soon. After a quick lunch, I packed and headed to the airport for my return flight to Florida. (Yes, another delayed flight in Detroit, getting us into the airport at 1:15, luggage at 2 am and home by 3 pm) Some day I'll learn to fly earlier in the day and not continue to arrive during prime sleeping time!)

Today was day two of the section golf tournament and the Northfield Girls' Team fell just two strokes shy of advancing to State. Kelsey shot an 86 and Brooke an 82. Brooke's two day total of 165 gave her a second place finish for individuals so she will be playing in her first State Golf Tournament. Hats off to the Raiders on a great season!

Always fun to get home to spend time with the family and see my friends.
