David came to Florida this weekend to visit since it was our 21st anniversary on Friday, July 25th. He was scheduled to arrive on Thursday night at 10:30, but was delayed in Houston due to something mechanical on the plane as well as weather (from Hurricane Dolly) so he finally arrived in West Palm Beach around 12:50 a.m. He only checked his golf clubs, so luggage arrived right away!
Friday night I introduced David to beach therapy...as Ron had arranged for our department to have a get together. Beach therapy involves sitting in beach chairs, digging your feet into the sand, eating snacks and enjoying festive beverages until the sun goes down. Doesn't sound like much but it is quite relaxing after a long week at work. Once it got dark, we went to County Line Pizza for dinner, then to the Legacy Place for Gelato. Quite a night of visiting and eating!
Saturday David and I went to Port St. Lucie to play golf at the PGA Golf Club. My friend Drew from work joined us and we played the Wanamaker Course. Another hot day on the golf course with very little breeze--typical Florida summer golf! At least we had a day with no rain!! Saturday night David and I ate dinner at Season's 52 to celebrate our anniversary...they are known for their changing menu as they only carry items "in season." All menu items are fresh and 400 calories or less--we each had filet mignon that were great--so it was a fun place to try!
Sunday we met Linda and Kathy for breakfast at Juno Beach Cafe (and now David is convinced I don't cook too much down here!) After breakfast we went to PGA National to hang out at the pool. We spent about an hour there before the afternoon rain--but it was still fun to hang out at the hot tub and sip on some pina colodas!
I took David to the airport at noon today for his flight back home. It was a fun weekend to have him come visit. Kelsey arrived home from Montana on Saturday and my parents arrived home from Norway on Sunday night. Glad everyone had a chance to get out and about and return home safely.
Crazy busy at work as we prepare for the PGA Championship next week. I leave Saturday for 10 days in Detroit. Next blog update from the PGA Championship.
