Golfing at PGA National

Saturday we walked early since I had a 9:40 tee time at PGA National. I played golf with Ron, Paul and Jon--all three colleagues from the Consumer Marketing/Player Development department at work. We had a good time...the weather was great and the golf was just okay...a few too many bogies today, but still fun to get out and play.
After golf, Ron, Jon and I went to the Yard House for lunch and sat outside on the patio and watched the Florida football game.

Sunday we walked after breakfast--going another three miles along the beach. We are starting to see the same people walking, running and roller-blading...kinda funny to actually recognize people along our walk! This afternoon I took a load of stuff to Pam's in Wellington--so I have less stuff to move on Friday. Somehow I have accumulated alot of stuff in the ten months I've been in Florida!

Hangin' out at Juno Beach

It was another weekend at Juno Beach. We kicked the weekend off by having beach therapy at Juno Beach on Friday night, followed by dinner at the new Mexican restaurant, La Bamba. Always fun to relax on the beach and end the night by trying out a new place to eat.

Saturday Kathy and I walked along the beach, then I went to the pool in the afternoon before having Susan and Kathy over for dinner. We had chicken & rice, broccoli salad and Susan made pumpkin bread and apple pie for dessert. We watched a movie after dinner and moaned and groaned about eating too much!

Sunday seems to be a standing 9 a.m. breakfast at the Juno Beach Cafe. Then we walked about three miles before I headed home to get organized for my upcoming move to Wellington. I'm getting inspired to clean and organize so I don't have so much stuff to move!

Brooke's Confirmation

It was another fun-filled weekend in Northfield as I went home for Brooke’s Confirmation. I flew home on Thursday afternoon, which gave me all day Friday to get the house and food ready for Sunday. My parents arrived on Saturday evening and helped us get ready.

Sunday we had 35 people attend the service at the church, then they all came back to our house for dinner. We fixed a ham, David’s homemade scalloped potatoes and assorted salads (but no “Lutheran” red jello!) It was fun to see Brooke’s Godparents and many family members and friends again. The fall colors and leaves were at peak this weekend—so that made for a nice fall atmosphere as well.

This morning I took my usual 6 am flight from Minneapolis thru Detroit to West Palm. Both flights were on-time, so I was able to get to work by 1 pm to get half a day of work in. Always good to go back to Minnesota and just as nice to return to West Palm.

Happy Birthday to my dad and my sister today, too!

Rained out again...

Today I played golf w/Kerry Haigh and Tim Shank from the PGA. Kerry is the managing director for tournaments and runs the Sr. PGA Championship, PGA Championship and most recently the Ryder Cup. Tim is the managing director of finance--so it was a thrill for me to play with more people from the PGA HQ staff. Unfortunately, once again for a second week in a row, we made it as far as the 7th hole on the Palmer course before we were rained out. About 4 p.m. the rain finally cleared, so I ran some errands and went to dinner at CPK.

Sunday we met at Juno Beach Café for breakfast, before our 3 mile walk. I spent the afternoon relaxing at the pool and packing for my trip to Minnesota on Thursday. Looking forward to returning for Brooke's confirmation next weekend.
